How Gel Matte Nail Polish Has Taken The Beauty World By Surprise

By Retha C. Solis

One of the things most females are religious about is their matte nail polish. Many women would not be seen without a coat of paint on their fingers. The problem with some treatments such as traditional acetone paint is that they do not last very long and require constant care. Hands are used for almost everything, and trying to protect the nails from contact is an impractical thing to do. Getting a manicure for a big event is a finely timed art, as too long beforehand will risk more chipping, but it often isn't convenient to get it done on the day.

Matte nail polish with a gel base is the best thing for getting rid of these issues. It has been specially formulated to stay on the nail for a prolonged time without gradually falling apart. The only time gels need reapplying is when they have stayed on long enough that there is regrowth. This illustrates just how hard-wearing the coat is in everyday life. This makes the product perfect for those who have to be rough with their hands in their job.

An individual is not able to apply their own gels like they would with other paints. This is because they require increased care and shaping than regular acetone paints. They need to be painted, dried, buffed and shaped using special equipment, patience and knowledge of the techniques needed. All of this costs around $40 in total, which is only a minimal amount more than a regular color nail polish manicure would cost. Although this costs slightly more, it does mean that the nails will stay on for longer, making it good value in the long run.

The development of these color nail polishes has undergone a sequence of changes over the last few years. Most products now claim to be '3-free', meaning that they do not use dibutyl phthalate, toluene or formaldehyde in them. These are elements known to dry out and harm the nail bed over time. Some gels have changed their formulas to remove the need to buff or file them or soak them in acetone to remove them. Through these changes and progressions the gel nail world has become kinder to the health of those wearing them.

When making your first appointment for these polishes you should make sure the technician is trained and qualified. Although the gels are completely safe when correctly used, they are harmful when applied wrongly.
